I’m just two months late with this personal post haha! But here are some of my favorite moments from Connor’s first month!
The moment Adaline met Connor will forever be my favorite memory. Adaline was SO excited to meet her baby brother and it was absolutely precious to watch her interact with him for the first time. I tear up just thinking about it! She has done so well with this transition, and these moments were the beginning of that! I couldn’t be more proud to be her mom! (A big thank you to my BFF Whitney for taking photos for me!!!)
Day 2 and 3 after Connor’s birth were probably the worst for me! It was pretty painful to move around those first few days after the c-section, but I was so incredibly thankful for my husband who was by my side the whole time! We had a great stay in the hospital and we went home on Jon’s birthday. Connor’s favorite thing to do was scratch his face, and since he is the second child we used socks for mittens on the way home! Haha! :) That first week was spent as a family of four (with my mom helping when she could) and it was such a sweet time together. I will always cherish these memories!
On Connor’s one week birthday I made us all dress up and do a photoshoot in Connor’s nursery!
Jon was able to stay at home with us for two weeks which was amazing! The first week he had to pretty much help me with everything physically. Getting in/out of bed was the worst!!!! But after a week I was able to do everything by myself, which was such a relief. I’m honestly so thankful for the healing process. I was back to my normal routine less than two weeks after my c-section. I was able to lift Adaline again and just do normal things, like pick up toys off the floor. The healing process of the c-section was my greatest fear and I was so happy with my experience.
Within those first two weeks Adaline ended up getting a stomach virus. It. Was. Horrible. She has never thrown up before so it was so sad to see her get sick and not understand what was happening. Luckily it didn’t last long and she was back to herself in less than a day.
We joked that we had every kind of bodily fluid in our home those first two weeks! Haha! It took us a while to get used to changing a baby boy’s diaper, so Connor peed on a lot of furniture/people haha! He also pooped on me and our bed… twice… within a few hours of each other. It was hilarious but also tiring!
Jon went back to work and his mom stayed with us for a week to help me get adjusted to our new routine and then I was on my own. Adaline did so great. She was definitely more whiny at times, but she loves her baby brother and I love watching them together!
I did a few photoshoots with Connor at my parents house and I loved the way they turned out! Adaline kissing Connor in the bluebells had to be my favorite photo EVER. It is hard to put into words how much I love these two!
I did these type of monthly photos with Adaline, so I wanted to do something similar with Connor! Since Easter was coming up I used plastic eggs to make the 1 and dressed him in his Sunday best :)
And just like that, his first month went by so quick! These two babies are my entire world. I can’t believe they are mine! I’ll have Connor’s Month 2 post up soon! :) Thanks for reading!
